Faith & Fitness: Inspiration Behind the New Blog

You may (or may not) be wondering why I started this blog.

It's simple: I have a love for Jesus, fitness, health, and nutrition.

It's one of those things where you just want to tell everyone about it. That's how much I love these things. So, why not combine them? Why shouldn't they go hand in hand?

Life is a blessing. Health is a choice.

I would rather say life is a GIFT. Because it is. It's a gift from God. Therefore, shouldn't we treat it as such? God made plants for eating. And they're equipped with literally everything our bodies need to survive and THRIVE. God also made our bodies capable of none other than.... EXERCISE! Not to torture us. But for health, for labor (work), for play. I find myself talking to God during exercise. Not just when it's hard, either.

I'm not saying our sole purpose is to be fitness and nutritional fanatics. But, why shouldn't we glorify God in literally EVERYTHING we do? We're called to do so. If I can be a light for Jesus while training someone or giving health advice, that's exactly what I'm going to do. If I can be a light for Jesus by saying a prayer before a meal in a public place, showing love to someone in the grocery store, at the park, or anywhere else...why NOT? God is good ALL the time. I want people to see that in me - that God is good, that God is love. So, I hope you see that here. If you don't, please tell me.

Let me know how I can pray for you. I also ask that you'll pray for me. I'm preparing for a big test - the certification exam for Health & Fitness Specialists (ACSM). Thanks! :)

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

3 John 1:2

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.

Psalm 139:13

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb.
